Sharon Stone May Feature In Ant-Man and The Wasp

An appearance by Sharon stone on James Corden’s Late Late Show suggests that we get a glimpse of the Basic Instinct star in an upcoming Marvel film. The Wasp, anyone?

Sharon Stone kind of seemed to disappear from major roles in films. The last decade has seen her take roles in various movies and even on TV with appearances in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and a lead role in Agent X (since cancelled) on TNT.

Now, ten years after that incredibly ridiculous Basic Instinct sequel, she may find herself collaborating with original Basic Instinct cast member Michael Douglas in Ant-Man and The Wasp.

This news comes after appearing as a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS. On the show, she revealed that she would be getting a role in an upcoming, but yet undisclosed Marvel Studios movie.

“I am going to do a Marvel movie. I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.”

It would make a lot of sense that the “wee part” she is referring to is Hank Pym’s wife, Janet van Dyne aka The (original) Wasp.

In Ant-Man, initially we are led to believe that Hank lost his wife when she went sub-atomic to diffuse a bomb. However, later in the film, when Ant-Man goes sub-atomic himself, there are flashes of a silhouette that clearly resemble The Wasp. When asked on this, director Peyton Reed said:

“I don’t know if you caught any of the imagery as Scott is going down into the quantum realm, you might be able, on repeat viewing and definitely when you get the Blu-ray, there’s something the audience can see down there that Scott doesn’t see, that, may play a larger role.”

The fact Ant-Man himself managed to go sub-atomic and survive hints at The Wasp’s fate to be unclear. Most would bet that we see a return for the original Wasp at some point.

In any case, cameos for past Basic Instinct stars on the set of the new Ant-Man film would be a nice touch.

As a bonus, on the same night we also got this funny flirt sequence between Captain America: Civil War star, Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and Sharon Stone, who seems to never age.
