New Volvo Car 40.1 and 40.2 Concept models debuted Wednesday. These build on Volvo Car’s current compact series 40 models.
The Swedish manufacturer’s new concepts are a sign of things to come for Volvo’s compact car series. The cars also utilize the company’s brand new platform – Compact Modular Architecture.
The cars will be highly connected, ECO friendly and safe, as most Volvos are.
THOMAS INGENLATH – SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT DESIGN says of the new models
CMA has helped us to capture something special, something youthful in our new concept cars. They have an energy, a disruptive and engaging urban character that makes them stand out
The Swedish manufacturer aims to sell 1 million electric vehicles by year 2025. The 40 series should go a long way to reaching that goal. The new 40 series will come in different variants – Full electric, hybrid, and gasoline are all on the cards.
The company also aims to introduce the world’s most advanced set of standard safety features at launch.
If we have to judge by the photos alone, there is definitely no reason not to want one of these. The design really is something to behold, and with the range of promised features, it should also be a pleasure to drive.
