Brian Cogman, writer and director on the show was a bit more serious
Much love, respect, and good wishes to you, @KristianNairn. You held the door, my friend. See you 'round the way.

Following the tragic twist, a very gracious Kristian Nairn revealed that he has no regrets about Hodor’s heroic death.
“I couldn’t be happier how he has gone out,” the actor said.
“The interesting thing is it’s kinda left open. You don’t actually see him [die]. It’s implied. So who knows? He may come back as a White Walker, maybe he got away. But it’s a really good way to do it. I couldn’t have asked for a better goodbye to a character I love.”
Game of Thrones next episode airs on HBO next Sunday, May 29, at 9pm.
