Game of Thrones Show-Runners Should Have Made Their Own Ending Says Walking Dead Creator

Robert Kirkman Suggests that George R.R. Martin should have kept Show-runners in the dark on Game of Thrones ending.

As we move forward with Game of Thrones’ plot, with no novels on which to reference for direct adaptation, Show-runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss need guidance from George R.R. Martin on which direction the show is headed.

Robert Kirkman, creator of AMC’s The Walking Dead, believes it was a mistake on GRRM’s side to have revealed the end game for his novels to series creators. GRRM is currently working on wrapping up The Winds of Winter, the next story in A Song of Ice and Fire saga.

With Weiss and Benioff knowing the major plot points for the ending of the TV series, Kirkman explained to Rolling Stone how he handles story in the comic books with regard to the AMC series. He was asked how he would react if he was asked to reveal major plot points to producers of the show.

“I would never do that. That’s the one thing I’m disappointed in George R.R. Martin for doing. He should have just been like, ‘F**k you. You make it up now, I’ll get to mine when I’m ready.'”

What’s you view? Should GRRM have revealed the plot to Show-runners, or let them come up with their own take? Share in the comments!
