Minor Spoilers ahead. HBO do us fans a solid by adding some much needed Game of Thrones episode length to the final episodes of Season 6.
Ever had the feeling like you’re getting duped when watching TV? It happens to me every single time I watch an episode of Game of Thrones. I keep looking at my watch, knowing full well that the end is nigh, and I can’t do anything about it but wait another week.
The nature of the show, as well as the fact that it is the most Spoilered (Is that a word?) show on television, mean that I can’t binge watch it either. This leaves me in actual agony, as I have to wait for next week’s episode. Don’t even ask what happens when a season ends.
To remedy this predicament ever so slightly, the folks at HBO did us a slight favor, adding more than ten minutes to each of the two final episodes. That means over an hour of entertainment of the popular show for the final two weeks! With opening and ending credits, the actual length may drop a bit, but better that nothing, right?
Episode 9 – Battle of The Bastards – Airs on June 19 and will run 60 minutes. This episode will see Jon and co. marching on the gates of Winterfell to face none other than the inglorious bastard, Ramsay Bolton.
Episode 10 – The Winds of Winter – Will test your endurance even further, with a whopping run-time of 69 minutes (The longest Game of Thrones episode to date)! Hurah! Probably not so great for the citizens of Westeros though. Expect to see the nefarious White Walkers, led by the Night King advance further in their march south towards The Wall (and perhaps beyond), bringing the long forgotten winter with them.
