Spoilers for Season 6 of Game of Thrones ahead. An actor on Game of Thrones was lucky enough to be on both sides of death’s coin. Tommen actor played another character in the beginning of the series.
Dean-Charles Chapman is currently known as King Tommen in Game of Thrones. Taking the throne after older brother Joffrey’s death, the actor had his own character killed earlier in the series, but it wasn’t Tommen.
The king, who’s half Lannister half Baratheon (but really just full Lannister), had a Lannister relative by the name of Martyn Lannister, who appeared in the 3rd season briefly in two episodes, before being murdered of course. The culprit was a devious Lord Rickard Karstark. Robb Stark was furious, as any Stark would be, and in northern fashion beheaded the stray lord. Very Eddard like.

Needless to say, this paved the way for Chapman to play king. Getting rid of Martyn was a blessing in disguise for the young actor, who is now enjoying his time on the Iron Throne, if just for a little bit longer.
