Spoilers for Season 6 of Game of Thrones Ahead! Possibly the biggest villain on Game of Thrones is hyped for the big showdown in Sunday’s episode – Battle of The Bastards.
Ramsay Bolton actor, Ewan Rheon, told EW he’s been super excited for the long awaited face-off against rival bastard. The epic showdown with Jon Snow takes place Sunday, in The Battle of The Bastards –
“Anyone who has asked me, ‘Who would you like Ramsay to meet?’ My answer has always been, ‘Jon Snow,’” Rheon says. “He’s the antithesis of Ramsay. They’re almost a yin and a yang. They both come from such a similar place yet they’re so different. And even though they’re enemies, they’ve both risen so far as bastards, which is almost incomprehensible, and now they’re both here facing each other. They couldn’t be any more different, yet more similar.”
Can’t agree more with Rheon’s assessment. First, both characters are from great houses in the north, yet Ramsay’s rise to prominence has had more to do with his selfish intentions and lust for power. However, in Jon’s case, his leadership was born of a will to protect those who are treated unfairly, some would say almost instinctively.
Both also (supposedly) have low-born mothers, although in Jon’s case the jury is still out.
Sunday’s episode should settle the score once and for all. When it ends there should be one ruler left in Winterfell, or in Game of Throne’s fashion, none at all.
Battle of The Bastards air Sunday, June 19, on HBO.
