TMZ reports say medical respondents arrived at Paisley Park studio, where Prince was at the time on Thursday morning, and the Carver County sheriff’s department in Chanhassen, Minnesota is notifying next of kin.
An official statement on Prince on Twitter reads:
Deputies are on scene of a death investigation at Paisley Park in Chanhassen. More info to follow. -814

Just last week TMZ reported that a flight the singer was on had to do an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois, due to the star being sick with the flu before a scheduled performance in Atlanta.
The perfomer sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the first year of his eligibility. Rolling Stone has ranked Prince at number 27 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
