The new trailer for the upcoming Ghostbusters 2016 movie is the most disliked video in YouTube history.
One user even claims that the video reached over 1m dislikes already, but the counter was reset.
“Yeah well Sony is just going to keep resetting the count. We hit 1 million ages ago but THEY KEEP RESETTING THE DOWN COUNTS!!!”
We didn’t follow that closely to know if this was true, but who knows.
It’s safe to say that a lot of the dislikes our the product of trolling. However, this doesn’t mean that much of the critisism directed at the Ghostbusters 2016 edition isn’t also part of the issue.
Sony made a bold decision replacing all the male leads from the original with female leads. In addition, many claim that the characters are just copy-pastes of the original with no added depth to any of them.
The cast consists of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
On the list of most disliked videos in history, you can find Justin Bieber’s “Baby” at the dubious number 1, with Rebecca Black’s “Friday” and Psy’s “Gangnam Style” also in the top 5.
Ghostbusters sits comfortably in 23rd between another Justin Bieber video “What do you mean?” and Meghan Trainor’s “All about that bass”.
We guess you will have to find out if the movie is really that terrible when it comes out on 15 July, 2016. There have been pleasant surprises before.
