Justin Lin will direct the follow-up to the 1996 original Space Jam starring Michael Jordan, titled Space Jam 2.
Space Jam 2 is ready to shoot, with Lebron James on-board. Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello are sharing writing duties with director Justin Lin.
Production may take place under Lin’s own Perfect Storm Entertainment, and aside from directing and co-writing, he will be involved in other aspects of creative development.
The first film racked up over $230 million worldwide, and featured The Loony Toons, hall of famers Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley, accompanied by Hollywood stars Bill Murray, Wayne Knight and Danny DeVito on some intergalactic ball action.
In July 2015, Lebron’s SpringHill Entertainment signed a deal with Warner Bros., which is when rumors of a sequel to 1996′ hit started picking up steam.
This isn’t the first time Lebron tries to engage in acting. Last year the former NBA MVP played in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck, so you are welcome to find out if his acting credentials are good enough for a career in film.
