Riri Williams, a 15 year old girl who made her debut earlier this year in Invincible Iron Man #7, was announced as the new Iron Man earlier this week by Marvel Comics.
Tony stark himself, is the one who chose the new Iron Man, Riri, as his successor, after learning that she had reverse engineered one of his armored suits in her M.I.T. dorm room.
Seeing as the following issues featuring Riri were selling incredibly well, it is no surprise that the character will be getting her own series later this year.
The announcement has not gone unnoticed by Robert Downey Jr., who’s portrayal of Iron Man in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is well known to any comic book fan. It is only natural then, that the actor showed his support to the rising young heroine on his Twitter page –
