Pokemon GO trading will soon be available, according to Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke.
Hanke confirmed the news regarding Pokemon GO trading at today’s Pokemon GO panel in San Diego Comic-Con. The feature will come as a future update for one of the most downloaded apps in history.
Many fans were outraged that the feature wasn’t there from the beginning. Long time Pokemon players have been accustomed to having a trading feature from the very early years of the franchise. Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, suggested that there may be two versions of the game, each with different Pokemon, which will encourage trading between both versions.
A beta that was held in the development stages of the game, enabled players to trade locally via location. However, it is yet unknown if the final version of the trading element will be limited to local trading, or enable trading over the internet.
Trading will provide players the ability to obtain Pokemon which they would otherwise not have access to, like region locked Pokemon. As a feature that was designed as a core game element, expect trading to be huge once it is launched in the coming future.
